So first of all we will talk about the Maruti Suzuki Victoris engine. It comes in three different options. one is mild hybrid and second is strong hybrid, and one is in NA CNG option. The engine comes in Mild hybrid and the CNG option and is developed by Maruti itself. It is K15C series engine which is inline 4 cylinder 16 valves, dual VVT Dual Cam Shaft, and has dual injectors also. This engine is a successor of K15B series engine which Maruti had to upgrade due to the strict norms.

The K15C engine from Maruti is the one which is being sold in large quantity. In Mild hybrid option the engine produces 103PS power and 139NM torque @4300 RPM. This engine comes with DUAL VVT, DUAL CAMSHAFT works very efficiently and very reliable too. It has an higher fuel efficiency and overall power output. It also is a low maintenance engine. The engine body is build from the Aluminum metal and this engine uses piston cooling jets. These cooling jets are placed below the piston ring in the cylinder itself. These cooling jets spray lubricants like engine oil to keep the engine cool and help in releasing the heat more quickly. This also help in reducing wear and tear and also reducing negative impact caused by the combustions. The pistons can work with high efficiency.

In CNG variant Maruti has done a good job with providing the CNG cylinder as under body so that Victoris gets some good amount of boot space. The NA petrol engine is available with 5 speed Manual and 6 speed Automatic transmission. Maruti has used dual interdependent ECUs one for CNG and One for Petrol. The 55 liter capacity tank can get 7 to 8 kg of CNG gas. This engine in CNG produces 88PS power and 121NM Torque which is lower than its petrol engine. The CNG is available with only 5 speed Manual transmission option.

The other engine which is sold as a Strong Hybrid Technology is a 3 cylinder M18D engine provided in collaboration with Toyota. The same engine is available in Maruti Grand Vitara and in Toyota Hyrider as well as a Strong Hybrid Technology.

The Victoris Hybrid engine is a TOYOTA M15D-FXE engine is a 3 cylinder 1490CC hybrid engine which produces a Combine output of 92.5PS power and 122NM torque. The motor it uses is a 59kW which alone can produce 80PS power. This engine come with a single injectors only in each cylinder which means only 3 injectors are there. The Battery pack is developed from Toshiba, Denso and Suzuki’s joint venture. This battery is developed in Gujarat plant. The strong hybrid option is available only in eCVT gearbox. Ventilated Disc breaks are available in this car which helps in cooling down the breaks easily. This is a 5 star safety rated car. The engine capacity can be shown in the images.

Cons of Victoris Engine: Low power and lower Torque, even lower in the strong hybrid option also, in case of strong hybrid cars the boot space is compromised a little, exterior design is polarizing and the looks is not very modern.

Hyundai Creta Engine Specification

Now we will talk about Hyundai Creta. The present model was launched in 2024 and it comes in 3 different options. One is MPFI petrol engine, TGDi petrol engine and a CRDi Diesel engine. We will take only petrol engines for todays comparison because Victoris comes in Petrol engine option only.

The Hyundai creta is based on company’s K2 platform. It is a MPFI engine is a 1.5L 1497cc inline 4 cylinder MPI G4FL series engine. It has dual VVT dual camshaft and has 6 speed MT and IVT technology. This engine has a compression ratio of 10.5:1. The NA Engine produces 115PS power and 144NM torque @4500RPM. This NA MPFI engine comes with 6 speed Manual and 6 speed iVT transmission.

The turbo TGDI petrol engine of this car is G4FS engine which is a direct injection engine system. It is a 1482cc inline 4 cylinder engine and it comes with 7 speed DCT gearbox. This engine produces 160PS power and 255NM torque @1500-3500RPM.

Cons of Hyundai Engine: High in maintenance, low in mileage specially in city in TGDi engine. Low safety rating, has coastly spare parts, MPFI has low mileage also.
