Our team has also driven it a lot. So understanding Brezza’s character which we are going to discuss it further in this article. It is a Maruti Suzuki Brezza review which will definitely help car buyers to take better buying and maintenance decision.
Is Brezza Worth Buying In 2025
Ignoring Maruti Brezza is a tough decision when you are going to buy a car in Indian Market, not because it is the most reliable car but because every car has a character which is reflected on road. Today we will not be going too far about this car’s good things only but we will be understanding its cons also. So today for discussions we will be talking about Brezza’s Engine, Variants, Technical Specifications, Features, Good and Bad things, Variants wise prices etc.

Maruti Brezza always remains under top 5 car’s selling list. This is getting more than 1 Lakh unit sales for many years. Till now brezza has got two generational update and one facelift update so far. The capability of the car has made it popular in which its SUV look and off roading capability and able to get itself glide through the bad roads made it so popular. with that it provides a decent mileage too.
Many people not actually like it because of its boxy design, fit and finish issue, low interior quality, low pick up and Slow Engine, not good mileage at aggressive driving. Thses are some of the points that Suzuki Brezza is being disliked.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Engine
Brezza comes with only one engine option which is K series 1.5 Litre k15C engine known for its refinement and low maintenance. Brezza was launched in 2016 with its 1.3 L Fiat diesel engine and it was popular till 2020 in the indian market. But due to 2020 BS6 norms Maruti discontinued this engine. Then with an update the car was again launched with a new refreshing K series K15B engine. In 2022 it came with new updated K15C engine which is present in it now. So when Brezza had Diesel engine then there was not a Petrol engine present in this car, and when a petrol engine introduced then diesel engine is removed from this car. Many of the car enthusiasts misses that diesel engine a lot.

Observation-
- Brezza was earlier launched with a K15B series engine in 2020 that prodiced 104PS power and 138NM torque. Which had load capacity of 450kgs.
- New model was launched with K15C engine in 2022 that produces 100PS power and 137NM torque. The load capacity reduced to 410kgs.
- Power reduced by 4 points and torque reduced by 1 point mark.
- The gross weight remain same over time so the load capacity reduced by 40 kgs.

Observation-
- We have 3 variants of the engine in present Brezza. Standard variant, CNG variant and a smart Hybrid Variant.
- In the above table we can say that there power reduced in CNG variant by 13 PS and torque also reduced by 16NM, when compared with standard engine.
- Whereas there is increase in power in Smart hybrid variant by 3 PS and torque by 2NM. Due to which Maruti claims a better performance in its Smart Hybrid variant.
- Load bearing capacity of its CNG variant reduced from 410kgs to 380kgs which is directly related with Torque, and that is why CNG cars becomes more sluggish on heavy Load.
- Maximum time in city usage we do not use the car’s full power so this becomes sufficient in city driving, but when come to highways when we need sudden power then the car becomes unresponsive.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza Car Specifications
Any car is not depends only on its engine but it is in combination of its platform which makes it more reliable. Maruti uses global c platform S-Tech for its SUV cars. Brezza is also developed on this platform. It offers a more rigid and strong structure so it is suitable for Large cars with high ground clearance. It also offers off roading capability to some extent. This is called as Monocoque Platform designed for comfort oriented cars.

The length of the car is 3995mm 1790mm width, 1685mm height, wheel base is 2500, boot space is 328L which remained same for throughout the updates. It is because its chassis is not changed although its update is launched. Suspension setup is very popular which can be found in maximum cars, at front it uses Macpherson struts and rear Torsion Beam is used. The suspension tuning is very balanced, which is not very rigid side but almost comfort side for the better ride quality. Some will finds it stiffer which also giving it stability on highways. But still there is a vertical movement felt while driving in city potholes.

Smart Hybrid in this car is quite efficient. The same engine is used with a dual battery setup, having an ISG motor used for Idle start stop. The breaks are connected with the battery which give regenerative breaking with which the battery gets charged. The smart hybrid technology here also works as a torque assist. Actually this technology does not directly produce torque but in real sense it only assist the engine in torque as and when required. This extra torque reduces the load on the engine and ultimately gives benefit to the fuel efficiency. The hybrid technology claimed mileage is 19.80kmpl.

The K15C engine is made to be the light weight. Most of its parts are made up of Aluminium, the crank case and camshafts are made up of hardened steel, cam cover and intake system is made of plastic due to which the entire engine remains light weight. This engine has dual injectors which can use both injectors at time when required. It comes with dual VVT and its compression ratio is approx 12. It uses cooled EGR for exhaust gases. The gear box is 5 speed manual and 6 speed torque converter. The torque converter is the most reliable AT but in reality power losses are higher in it. Thats why the performance of the car becomes sluggish.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Features
Now we talk about the features this car has. Some are the useful features and some are good to have features, HUD, Paddle shifters, rear AC vents, wireless charger, 360 degree camera, fit and finish is just good but can be improved, dual tone type interior is there, plastic material looks cheaper.

For Safety there are two aspect one is active safety and another is passive safety. In Brezza some work in terms of safety has been done still there is a lot more efforts needed. Like it does not have ADAS L2. It has hill hold assist, ESP, ABS and EBD, 6 airbags as standard, traction control, for rating this car got 4 stars but with its two airbag variants.

For Pricing we will check its variants and as per the use case we have to choose from the variety that it provides. The CNG is suitable for a person whose drive is more in a month average drive is more than 1000kms in a month or for a person whose drive is 3000 to 4000 per month then CNG is a good option for them. But the CNG variant is not good for those who want a highway drive. On highways the CNG engine feels slow and unresponsive specially when overtake is required.

Lower models of the Brezza in CNG will cost approx 11 to 12 Lakh which is very suitable budget option for a buyer. If your car running is only 400 to 500 km max then it is not worth buying in CNG variant. Then should go for petrol variant you can opt a higher variant for the same price without compromising on boot space.
Is Brezza good for daily use?
Brezza has a naturally inspirated engine which is considered good for city driving and for short trips also. It uses K series 4 cylinder engine which is very smooth and have very low NVH level. In city traffic it provides sufficient power and if use in CNG then it gives very good fuel efficieny in its segment. For daily drive purpose the Brezza is a very good car.
Is Brezza better than Venue?
Again the answer depends on the use case. Brezza is a very good package as a whole. it is designed with more focus on reliability, mileage, city ride, decent suspension and simple mechanics engine. But there are some important point in mind that the engine it comes with feels unresponsive in many situation. This car is not for enthusiasts who want fun to drive car. The engine generates less power but more fuel economy with CNG. Also the fit and finish issue is noticeable in Brezza. Whereas Venue provides more options with respect to the Engine. There is N line variant which comes with turbocharged engine for enthusiasts. The interior quality is also better in Venue, better fit finish quality of the material is there. But fuel economy is not as good as Venue does not come in CNG variant.

Is Brezza a good car for long drive
Brezza is a good car with overall decent performance and good mileage. But its engine is designed for a giving good mileage and better long term reliability and does not provide high torque. For long drive a high performance engine prove to be a good option. So Brezza is good for more city driving and not as fun on the highways. Although its Smart Hybrid Variant provide good power and produces more torque. This variant also gives good mileage in petrol so it can be a better option for long drive.
What is the weakness of Brezza?
The weakness of Brezza is as follows

- The interior material quality is low. The plastic feels cheap quality.
- Low mileage in city traffic in Petrol variant.
- Does not provide a luxury feel.
- Rattling sound occurs in long term use.

- Outdated interior and it needs to be updated.
- Suspension set up is stiffer side so do not perform better in pot holes.
- Vertical movement is observe while driving.
- Does not provide a luxury feel in material quality selection.
Which one is better, Baleno or Brezza?
Brezza is all time better than Baleno. Brezza has more ground clearance, it has better suspension than baleno. Brezza provides more comfort because its height is more than Baleno. It is an SUV so provide better ride quality. Also Brezza performs better on bad road and pot holes. Brezza is also better because it provides more power than Baleno.
