The market for EVs are now expanding in India year on year. With the availability of charging infrastructures and big batteries coming in new cars the EVs are now getting attractive options for daily commuters. Maruti Suzuki eVitara
Launching on 3rd December the car is first from the biggest car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki. It will be a born EV car and its already been launched in international market. Manufacturing in India and exported to other countries its wait is now over. Actually Maruti Suzuki is focusing on alternate fuel options like CNG and Hybrid cars which are actually doing very good in term of sales in India. The battery options are 49 KWH and 61 KWH. It is expected to have compact in size in term of space. Also the pricing is more important.
Toyota Urban BEV
The Toyota version of e-Vitara is also ready to be launched but after the launch of e-Vitara only. The platform is co-developed by Maruti and Toyota. It will be little longer than e-Vitara actually 4285mm which is 10mm longer than e-Vitara also 5mm taller than e-Vitara. The battery options are same i.e. 49 KWH and 61 KWH.
TATA Sierra EV
Sierra ICE version has already been launched and its EV version is also coming in the market. The company has given hint of launching the car very soon. Earlier the EV version of this car was scheduled to be launched but it got delayed. Sierra has its own legacy also the new version is looking very stylish. Actually its TATA’s car in 4.3 meter segment and this segment is very crowded so it will be quite interesting to wait for this car. It will be a born EV and its expected to have two battery packs one is 59 KWH and another is 71 KWH.
Mahindra XEV 9S
This is the most recent new EV car in India because Mahindra is all set to launch its all new 7 seater SUV in EV avatar. Its first in the segment from the company. It will be big in size with large wheel base to accommodate 7 people inside with large leg room. Borrowing the features from its sibling XEV 9E like triple screen setup, 360 degree camera and ADAS L2 it will still be different from that car in terms of seating capacity. The mid row will have two options one is captain seats and another is with single large seat for three passengers option. The third row will only be for 2 persons. The battery options will be 59KWH and 79KWH is what we can expect.
